These are the 'before' photographs of a hall-stairs-landing and also a living area in the same property. I have stripped off all the old wallpaper ready to start filling, caulking, sanding and sealing ready to start lining with a 1700 grade paper.
These are a few of the repairs that I had to make before lining the walls on the staircase. Some holes required an expandable foam and some repairs required drilling sections of wood to the structure within the wall to create a base for filling. For filling, I was able to use two coats of Gypsum fine-fill, which sands down very smooth. These repairs are below the window - on the landing. You can see the finish result on the after photographs.
These are the after photographs for the living area and the staircase completed mid September '19 all the walls have been prepped, sealed with a PVA solution - due to the walls being porous. The walls have been painted with a Vinyl Matt emulsion (Johnstones) All woodwork has been under-coated and finished with an oil-based 'Satin Finish'
As you can see from the images, this isn't your average staircase. I had to use my extension ladders and scaffolding boards to tackle the higher sections with very awkward angles. I tend to work on many projects such as this due to the overall complexity and it's not a job for the faint hearted!
